My guide Ra-Sha and the Sunstone Consciousness offer an introduction to the energy of the Sun and how we can put it to work in our lives, including three crystals and two meditations to get you started.
Today we're starting a new series on the energy of the planets of our solar system. Now, I may be the most incurious person on Earth, because it never occurred to me to wonder about the energy of the planets, much less how we can connect with and use them. But that's just what Ra-Sha, my Arcturian guide, tells me we can do.
Ra-Sha and the Sunstone Consciousness directed me to start this series with our Sun. As any astrologer will attest, all of the planets contribute energies that help drive events on Earth. Of these, our Sun is apparently top dog.
So, with thanks to Ra-Sha and Sunstone, here's an introduction to the energy of the Sun: what it is; how it affects us; and how we can put it to work in our lives. Ready to get started? Check out the crystals and meditations suggested here, then experiment on your own.
What is the nature of the energy of our Sun?
The Sun is the center of your small corner of the universe. And as such, it is a sovereign ruler in your reality. The Sun is generosity. It is life. It is light, help, action, and manifestation. The Sun directs your efforts and encourages you on your path. The Sun is joy and completion.
How does the Sun affect our lives?
Well, of course, one of the primary ways that the Sun impacts your life is as your Sun sign, your birth sign in astrology. The Sun has a key effect on your personality and your path through your life. Because as you know, astrology is real. The planets all exert energy upon the Earth and its inhabitants, and the Sun's energy is arguably the strongest actor in your heavens. In many ways it directs and controls your fate. That does not mean you are a slave to the Sun’s path or to its energies. But in a very real way who you are is shaped by the Sun’s energies. That is as the masters have planned it.
Can we consciously work with the Sun to improve our lives?
Yes, certainly. First of all be, grateful. Give thanks for the light that the Sun sends to you because its light is equal to its love. The Sun is a being, just as Gaia is a being, and as such it is infinitely loving. The Sun is an aspect of Creator designed to give light and life to your universe. So, give thanks for having a being such as the Sun helping to direct the path of events in your universe.
Another way to work with the Sun is to perform certain rituals at sunrise with the intention of bringing positive energy into your efforts for the day. This can be as simple as greeting the Sun with your morning coffee. Or it could be a short series of yoga positions performed facing east first thing in the morning.
These are two simple ways of inviting the energies of the Sun to support your efforts for the day. Start here and explore for yourself.
If an aspect of the Sun’s energy is action and manifestation, how would we work with the Sun to manifest something?
We would like you to consider a meditation in which you imagine a journey to the surface of the Sun. Of course, we want you to imagine that the Sun is not boiling hot; that it is in fact a cool and comfortable place to be! Or if you wish, you can imagine yourself floating in space near the Sun but protected from its heat. The purpose of such a meditation might be to have a conversation with the Sun as a being, to ask its advice, support, or assistance with your manifestation project.
Another meditation with the Sun might be aimed at your psychological health. Let's say you're feeling a little down and you'd like to feel better, more positive, happier. Consider metaphorically joining hands with the being that is the Sun in meditation and asking the Sun to help lift your spirits. You might be surprised at how much better you feel afterwards.
What about crystals? Can we work with crystals to bring the energy of the Sun into our lives?
Yes, there are many crystals that connect to the Sun. Among these is the one you are holding right now, sunstone. Another is citrine. Still another is golden healer quartz. All of these carry the vibration of the Sun and can help you connect to the Sun’s energies. To illustrate:
If you are focused on manifesting something, hold a piece of citrine in your receptive hand as you meditate.
If you are focused on your psychological health, hold a piece of sunstone in your receptive hand.
To connect to healing energy provided by the Sun for a number of aspects of illness, hold a piece of golden healer quartz in your receptive hand.
Crystal grids constructed with an intention for manifestation can also invite in the energies of the Sun. You might use a citrine in the center of the grid and the flower of life as its foundation. Choose other crystals that reflect your intention, and align the top of the grid due east to greet the rising Sun.
A crystal grid focused on your psychological health might include sunstone or golden healer quartz, aventurine, lepidolite, amethyst, and sodalite. In this case one might use a triquetra or vesica piscis as the grid's base, and align the top of the grid due west to take advantage of the releasing energies of the setting Sun.
What else should we know about working with the energies of the Sun?
The Sun is a powerful force in your world. But when you see something every day, you tend to forget about it. Yet the Sun has many benefits if you work with it consciously.
Consider thinking of the Sun as your friend and a fatherly energy, much as you consider Gaia your friend and a motherly energy. Build a relationship with the Sun through meditation, contemplation, and simple ritual. You might be surprised by how much “juice” it adds to your daily life.
